At the north end of the park lies Preston Manor, next to the 13th century church of St Peter. Two earlier churches were built on the site.

The present manor house was built in 1738 on mediaeval foundations. It was re-modelled in 1906 when the west wing was added. Brighton Council bought and opened the park around 1884.

Park facilities: Two cafeterias, public bowling greens, public tennis courts, football fields, football hard courts, basketball nets, toddlers' playground, older children's playground, cycle track, cricket ground, flower gardens, wc's; dogs allowed in main park.
