| The University of Sussex, situated at Falmer - some 4 miles (6K) out of Brighton on the Lewes Road - is the only UK university to be set in a listed Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and extends for 160 acres. Designed by the architect Sir Basil Spence, it opened in the 1960's. Further buldings have kept to the original style of design. |  |
