The Brighton Centre was built in 1977 and has a main hall, secondary hall, exhibition space, restaurant and bars. It hosts some of Britain's main policital conferences, as well as ice shows, rock concerts and sporting events. It's also home to the Brighton Bears Basketball team!

The lower promenade below Kings Road, Kings Road Arches, houses a huge number of cafés, gift shops, and night clubs like Arc, The Beach, the Zap Club and the Honey Club ..... The pier in January Monday afternoon in January
..... as well as a sand-based volley-ball court, basketball court, paddling pool, - and a fishing museum open daily. The basketball court, with the volleyball court behind it Fishing museum at Kings Road Arches  

The West Pier, designed by Eugenius Birch and finished in1866, was badly damaged by a winter gale a few years ago and has now been further damaged by fire, believed to have been started deliberately. Will - or should - it be rebuilt? The jury is still out .....

The Kings Road area, including Grand Junction Road at its eastern end, is home to many of the large seafront hotels as well as some good restaurants. Metropole & Grand hotels,  with the Brighton Centre beyond them The Ramada & Old Ship hotels
Brunswick Terrace is the seaward end of the Brunswick Estate, also edged by Lansdowne Place to the west, Upper Western Road to the north, and Waterloo Street to the east. The architect was Charles Busby and the estate was finished around 1828. This is the residential end of Kings Road. The French Church, behind the Metropole Hotel Brunswick Terrace, Kings Road, Hove
